Do you ever get that feeling in your throat when you want to scream, but don’t let it out?
Your pulse is pounding, the anger’s rising in your body and you feel it moving up to your throat. But then that little voice inside (which you don’t even realise is running the show) - be a good girl - stifles that scream before it comes out…
When we feel anger and rage but don’t allow ourselves true expression and release, this energy stays locked away in the body, each experience building on the one that came before it.
When we spend months, years, even decades of our lives doing this, this can manifest in a multitude of ways, such as physical symptoms in the body or explosive emotions that feel completely out of our control.
The Sacred Rage Release Journey offers you a safe container, consisting of two online calls and a full-day retreat in nature, to hold you so you can finally give yourself permission to feel and give expression to that which you’ve spent years - perhaps even a lifetime - pushing down and hiding away.
On the main event day you will be welcomed by your facilitator, Francesca J. Littmann, at The Woodland - a secluded spot in nature in Ecchinswell, which has access to a cabin, large bell tent (subject to weather), a sacred fire pit with a parachute overhang for protection against the elements, woodland and plenty of open outdoor space where you can move freely and BE with your surroundings, receiving unseen support for your releasing process, as you are guided to connect in deeply with Mother Earth and all the elements.
The Retreat Day
The day will commence with the setting of the safe, sacred space, to support you in feeling fully held and safe to enter into those uncomfortable spaces within yourself that are calling to be acknowledged and given an expression. In the safe space of circle, we share our stories. What anger are you aware you are holding onto? What is the niggling feeling just below the surface that you haven’t been able to access? What did you learn from your caregivers and others about anger and rage? Are there moments of injustice you’ve experienced that you’ve just had to swallow and carry on as though everything is okay? All of these things and more are welcomed into the circle for expression and exploration, and in sharing our stories, most often we find threads that weave between us, echoes of our own stories, either known or until now forgotten with the mind but not the body.
Through sound and voice you’ll then be lead on a meditative journey to allow space for the surfacing of things you’ve held onto subconsciously. This will be done in a gentle and safe manner, so that whatever comes up for you is manageable and you don’t feel overwhelmed before we get to the next stage.
The first part of the day will build up to the main section of the day, during which we explore exercises to connect with the somatic experience of your buried anger and rage, giving you a safe space to finally delve into this and give it an expression through body movement and voice. Need to scream, shout, swear, curl up in a ball on the ground and sob your heart out? All of this and more is welcome.
Having reached the peak, just as when we have a good cry the body then needs a period of rest to regenerate, the last part of the day will be focused on providing you with a safe space to ground your energy, giving you a space of calm after the storm, bringing you gently back to your inner self through guided meditation, giving you a healing space for self-holding and self-soothing, so that your body and full energetic system can integrate the shifts in the most gentle, respectful and loving way possible.
The day will close with a sharing circle and guidance to further support you on the journey beyond our day together.
Before & After the Retreat Day
In addition to the event day, there will be two online Zoom calls (both will be recorded for those who can’t attend live). The first takes place in the week leading up to our day together, during which time you will be gently guided into the process of connecting with and giving a space for your Sacred Rage. The second will be a follow-up call in the weeks after, offering you an opportunity to bring forward anything that has come up since our day together, and supporting you in continuing to ground in and give a place for the new shifts taking place within you.
